Weekly Circular 26 April 2026

Dear Parents, Staff and Students

As a school community we can only thrive if we have the full co-operation of parents and guardians. By full co-operation we mean that you pay your school fees, you send your child to school in full school uniform everyday and you ensure that they are punctual. You communicate with us when your child is sick or going to be late. You attend parent meetings. You ensure that your child is working at home, doing homework, completing tasks, practicing math and math literacy on a daily basis. You engage with them positively around the school rules and value words.

We are blessed as a school family to have the full co-operation of a hard working and diligent staff. Our target is 100% pass for all and 100% of students upholding the values of respect, kindness, care, dedication and commitment. 100% of students abiding by the code of conduct. This is our mission as we strive for excellence at Windsor High School.

We understand that our children will make poor decisions at times but when it becomes repetitive then it means that they are not developing into the mature, responsible young adults that we are mentoring. It means that additional interventions are needed and this becomes the direct responsibility of parents and guardians with the school being the supportive agent.

The actions I am referring to that have zero tolerance at Windsor High are students’ late coming, bullying each other, selling of anything, smelling like dagga and smoking of any sort. Disrespecting the rule of the school being a cell phone free zone during school hours of 08:00 to 15:00 will now come to an end.

The Search and Seizure took place on Thursday, 23rd April. This was led by the Lansdowne SAP with the support of Metro police and the Maitland Dog Unit. We thank them for this support as we ensure the safety of all at Windsor High.

What did this reveal? We recovered 1 knife, 1 dagga tube and 1 dagga pipe. These students immediately face a disciplinary hearing and an intervention to support them.

We also recovered many lighters, vapes and cigarettes.

Many learners have their cell phones in their school bag or on their person. Parents/Guardians teach them to be responsible, engage with your child around these matters. Cell phones must be handed in at reception or left at home.

Our school site can be considered safe and we will continue to do everything in our power to maintain a drug and weapon free zone. This includes a cell phone free zone for students during school hours.

This past week we had an inspiring whole school assembly. Our student leaders motivated the assembly by focusing on our value words while our guest speaker, Professor Jansen of Stellenbosch University had a message of resilience [bouncing back] and hope that all students must believe in themselves.

Once again I want to express how proud I am of our students. The co-operation during the search and seizure was amazing. I know that many of our students were anxious during this process.

Thank you students of Windsor High!

Congratulations to our Volleyball teams who won their games against Oude Molen High this week and we wish them well for this coming week as they take on Michael Oak on Tuesday. To the captains Tyler Adams and Mika Petersen, keep shining in your leadership of this vibrant sporting code. Thank you to coach Matthews for his guidance and training of the teams. Also we commend our Debating team on their victory against Steenberg High. Well done to educator Mr Danielle and Joseph from Tores Foundation. Congrats WHS Debating club.

The week ahead is a 3 day week. All students must attend school. On the 30th April we will have our Civvies fundraiser. All learners must contribute and the register educator will keep record. Those in uniform pay R10-00 and those in Civvies pay R20-00. The grades 8 and 9 will write their EMS assessment and the grades 10, 11 and 12 will write the History/Cat test. Attached is the June Examination Time Table. Grade 12 parents are reminded that the 7th period is a compulsory period. It is an extension of the school day for the Class of 2026.

We pray for Africa and South Africa as we celebrate Africa Day and Freedom Day this weekend. We remember the sacrifices made for us to be free and equal. We pray for the safety and protection of the Windsor family. En AvanteKind Regards
