Who We Are
Windsor High School is a co-ed high school located in the suburb of Rondebosch East. It started out as Lansdowne High School and was later renamed to Windsor High School. The school became a former model-C school at the dawn of the New Democracy in 1994. It serves various communities from the larger Cape Town area. The current principal is Dianne Morgan-Meyer.
Windsor High is currently undergoing a process of growth and renewal. Various improvement projects have been and are currently being undertaken. Some of these includes the construction of five brand new classrooms, a quad and a new school hall. There are other exciting projects which are forthcoming, so watch this space.
At Windsor High we strive not only for academic, cultural and sporting excellence, but also the holistic development of active citizens who can contribute productively to society. We are guided by five basic principles: Respect, Dedication, Kindness, Commitment and Care. Through these principles, we aim to encourage the growth of socially responsible people who will go out and make a positive impact on the communities they live in.
2025 Philosophy: “If you know better, you do better”
The philosophy guiding us this year is “If you know better, you do better”. This philosophy is important in two ways. Firstly, it highlights the important role of education in the creation of a better world, as we cannot know without learning. Secondly, it invokes the dynamism of the human condition, illustrating that we are all works-in-progress and can always improve ourselves through education and learning.
These two strands emphasise the importance of schools not only as sites of learning, but as beacons of hope, shining a light on the power of education as a tool of empowerment, betterment and positive societal change.
