    Dear Parents, Staff and Students

Thank you to the Windsor family for coming together as a team and hosting a successful Derby Day with Islamia, Groote Schuur and Groenvlei High. Team work is definitely dream work. Congratulations to all our athletes and coaches who participated in the sporting codes of Volleyball, table tennis, netball, football and rugby. We applaud the winners of the various events. Well done to our staff members serving on the sports committee who played a leading role in the success of this sporting event: Mr Toefy, Mr Young, Mr Danielle, Mr VD Merwe, Mr Morris and Coach Matthews.

The parents serving on the school governing body deserve to be commended for their leadership in organizing this event and volunteering on the day. We thank the broader parent community for all the donations and support. Thank you to our student leaders within the RCL and the grade helpers at the stalls. To our staff, thank you for always being committed and dedicated in serving our children so responsibly. Finally, we say thank you to all our students who supported this event.

    The week ahead:

It is important to note that school will dismiss at 2pm this week as there are June examinations being written from tomorrow onwards. I have attached the updated June Exam time table again. There is one change. Eid Al Adha has been confirmed for Thursday, therefore there will be normal school on Wednesday.

We have once again a combination week of normal classes and formal assessments being written. In addition, the grade 10 learners will be doing their Consumer practical this week. Attached is the group list. This is a formal assessment.

We are at the point in the term where all tasks, projects, oral tasks for languages must be completed. All students should be preparing and studying for the examination approaching. We appeal to our parents and guardians to monitor your child at home to ensure that they are studying.

We pray for a productive week ahead. We ask the Almighty to keep the Windsor family safe and protected. We are filled with gratitude for all the blessings we receive as a school family. We pray especially for our children that they may be focused and make good choices.Kind Regards

    Dear Parents, Staff and Students

I am filled with gratitude for the co-operation of the Windsor family during this past interrupted week that was beyond our control. Thank you especially to our parents and guardians for adjusting your schedules to the school program. What started as a stormy week ended calmly and in high spirits with a junior football final, round 2 of the Maths Olympiad, Casio calculator training for all Math Lit students from grades 10 to 12, two full days of teaching, a formal Math/Math Lit assessment from grades 8 to 12 and an excursion on Friday evening to the Baxter theatre to see Rise 76. Thank you to Ms Nicholas for organizing this theatre experience for our students. Thank you to all staff for their dedication this past week.

I commend our students for their resilience during this past week. You have made me proud. In my class observation of the past week, I have seen students in full school uniform, working well in class, notebooks up to date and good interaction in the lesson. Where notebooks were not up to date, there was a promise to get it up to date. I will follow up with these learners on Monday.

Congratulations to grade 9E for winning the Junior Football Inter Class tournament. The opponents grade 8A must be commended for their resilience and excellent display of skills throughout this tournament.

We look forward to a productive week of teaching this coming week. We have to navigate teaching alongside subject formal assessments taking place. As parents/guardians we are making you aware of the formal assessments taking place this week so that you can ensure that your child is present at school and prepared for the assessment. Consumer Studies practical will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for grade 11. Business Studies test for grades 10, 11 and 12 from Monday. Casio calculator training for all pure Math students in grades 10, 11 and 12 on Tuesday. Ensure that your child has a calculator. Then grade 12 Tourism students will be doing their formal NSC PAT on Wednesday and Thursday. This is a 4 hour assessment on each day and therefore the grade 12 Tourism students will be dismissed at 13:30 on both days. The rest of the school will dismiss as per normal at 15:00.

We are meeting selected grade 12 students and parents on Wednesday evening at 18:00. The venue will be the minor hall in the school building as it is a smaller group and the main hall is being used for the NSC exam. Grade 12 students should have received a letter and register educators will inform you as the grade 12 parent. Your child must accompany you to this important meeting.

On Wednesday morning, we will have a coffee vendor at school from 07:00 to 08:00 who will be selling hot chocolate to students at the cost of R25-00.

Our week will end with Derby Day on Friday, 22nd May. Gates will open at 13:30 and games will commence at 14:15. We appeal to our parents to support your grade stall. Entrance fee is R20-00 to all in Civvies and R10-00 to those in school uniform. We wish our teams well. We work hard and we play hard.

Attached to this circular is again the June exam Time Table, the final NSC November exam Time Table, the Math Olympiad top learners and the school banking details. School fees must be paid as per normal.

We pray to the Almighty for the safety and protection of the Windsor family.
