Circular 26 October 2025

Dear Parents, Staff and Students

As we reflect back on the past week we can do so with pride.

Reflection

In our grade assembly, our top achievers for term 3 were acknowledged with certificates and the top achiever in each grade was awarded with a medal and a badge. We once again congratulate them.

Our class of 2025 wrote three NSC exams in the past week for the first time in our main school hall. History was made. Our grade 9 cohort wrote their systemic tests and the external invigilators praised the grade for their excellent behavior and co-operation on the day. Grade 9 students, we are so proud of you. Keep shining! Our Volleyball teams had an opportunity to attend the World PRO Beach Volleyball champions taking place in Camps Bay. This was thoroughly enjoyed by the Windsor Volleyball team as they were announced best supporters and were able to take photos with the various teams. Our grade 11 girls had the opportunity to attend a job shadowing program and they were thoroughly spoilt by the corporate world. Thank you to all our parents who attended the parent meeting this past week. The evening was a huge success in that the attendance was good and the engagement between parents and staff went well. Together we serve the best interests of our children.

Additional Support for the well being of students

We have our resident school counselor Ms T. Petersen who is a member of the School Based Support team and is on site Monday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm. We have Ms Denicia Buys from Life Choices our NGO Partner who is on site every Wednesday. We have the Character Company on site every Wednesday. This support deals with emotional well being, mental health, building character and general life skills addressing issues of bullying and substance abuse. We would like to introduce to our Windsor family a new member to this broad support team who will also deal with general physical health issues. The department of health has placed a nurse, Sister Green as Windsor High Schools allocated school nurse. We welcome Sister Green. She spent two days with us this past week. Her visits will be once a month going forward and the next date is set for the 20th November.

Academic Update

Grades 8 and 9 Creative Arts November mark includes 2 projects and a test. A drama and an art project. Parents and guardians please ensure that your child does both projects. This is a huge part of the final mark once the test is added.

Grades 10 and 11 Life orientation final November Mark is an examination of 100 marks. This exam will assess terms 3 and 4 work. Parents and guardians we have had too many students not meeting the pass requirement in this subject because they are not studying for the exam. Please ensure that they have all the notes in their books and that they prepare well. No project or task or PE mark is added. It is only the exam mark.

November Exam Date

We have requested an early start to the November exam [4th November]. The reason being that 14 senior staff members have been approved to mark the NSC exam. Marking of the NSC exam commences on the 28th November. We await the response from the education department. As soon as we have the response we will issue the Final Exam Time Table to all. We have 7 teaching days left if we start on the 4th November. All learners must be studying and preparing for this exam.

Grade 9 Subject Choice Forms

Attached to this communication is the form that has already been handed to all grade 9 students. This is for grade 10 subject stream choices for 2026. This form must be completed and handed in by the 7th November 2025. Also attached is a letter explaining the subject requirements for Engineering Graphic Design [EGD], Grade 9 Parents and guardians please note that selecting Consumer Studies or EGD comes with additional financial costs to you the parent because of the equipment required for these subjects.

Student Discipline

This coming week is an important teaching week as the academic teaching program comes to a final close for 2025. All students must be punctual, dressed neatly in full school uniform every day. Any absence must be communicated with the school. Any classroom disruption will lead to the student being removed from the class and the parent receiving a call to collect them. We will not tolerate any violence or aggressive behavior at our school. Immediate suspension and if necessary a SGB Disciplinary Hearing. It is all about respect. For yourself and the family values you bring to school, respect for your peers and the adults at the school.. We have zero tolerance for anyone that is disrespectful. We uphold our school values of dedication, commitment, respect, kindness and care.

We thank the Almighty for all the blessings bestowed on our school and our school community. We pray for the safety of the Windsor family and we pray for the protection of our school community. En Avante, forward and upward.Kind Regards
